Delta
August 16, 2008This isn't an official update on my vacation (which was totally 100% awesome, btw, and I will upload a few pictures, including my new tat, soon) but a note to say I don't think I will ever fly with Delta again due to the issues we had getting back from Baltimore to Boston.
Our flight on Sunday was supposed to leave at 7:30 p.m. By 10:30 it had been pushed back several times and was officially cancelled. The reason: We didn't have a captain or co-captain to fly our plane and they couldn't find any that could do it. Now, I understand that our crew probably didn't make it on another flight that had been cancelled (there were lots of storms) but at the same time, how do you lose a flight crew?!
Delta did put us up in a really nice hotel and give us food vouchers and book us on another flight on Monday. I would have preferred that AND my money back, but yeah.
Monday the flight was supposed to leave at 1:30. It didn't. First it was pushed back until our flight crew came in off another flight that had been delayed. Then it was delayed while waiting for a fuel truck and to fuel the plane. Then we had to wait to be given the okay to take off because everyone was using the flight path we wanted to use due to the storms.
Now I know most of this was not Delta's fault, and I probably will end up forgetting it and flying with them again, but it made for a very frustrating situation. Has anyone else ever experienced this type of thing?
